I started this site as a way to keep track of the trips I take and the corners of Montreal I keep coming back to. It grew from there. These days the writing falls into two buckets: pieces about my hometown that I wish someone had handed me when I first started exploring it, and notes from trips abroad that I want to remember properly.
Montreal is where I’m from, and where I live. It is a strange and beautiful city. I write about it the way you would tell a friend who is visiting for a long weekend: where to actually eat, what to skip, and the things that make sense only once you have walked them.
Quebec is the rest of the province. La belle province is much bigger than the island, and I try to get out into it as often as I can. The Laurentians, the Eastern Townships, the lower St. Lawrence, the food and the people that come with each.
Abroad is everywhere else. I have written about Krakow’s dragons, the blue alleys of Chefchaouen, photogenic corners of Barcelona, and a handful of other places. Some of those pieces are years old now. They still hold up.
If you want to reach out, the contact page has the easiest way. If you want to start reading, the Montreal archive is the right entry point.
