Anyone who knows me knows that I am a total animal lover. Sometimes even a crazy cat lady. But during my trip to Catalonia, it was my dog-person self that came out of the closet. There were so many playful dogs there! I couldn’t resist hanging out with them – sometimes I didn’t even want to do the activity I was there for because the dogs were so freakin’ cute!

Now, Pequita and I had a bit of a love story. When I got to Mas Perafita winery, she was the first thing I saw. She was walking towards me, with a limp on her front left leg, but so happy to meet new people. I could tell she wanted to play but her handicap simply wouldn’t let her. I was instantly in love with her! I spent a good 15 minutes sitting on the grass and petting her before I sadly had to leave.

This dog was so freakin’ cute. It’s an incredibly fluffy teenage German Shepherd – my family dog was a German Shepherd so I was instantly smitten. The dog belonged to one of the villas I visited, and decided to tag along when we went out for a walk a few kilometers from his home. He was having way too much fun digging out rocks from the river!

Are you a dog person? Do you like to interact with animals when you travel?
