Canada Shared by Canadians

If you’re active on Twitter, you may remember a campaign promoted by Keep Exploring, Canada’s ultimate travel resource. It was called 35 Million Directors.

Every Canadian could send a picture or a short video that best represented Canada in his/her opinions.

A few months later, this is the result. 65 hours of footage. 8,206 entries. 82 winners. 1 amazing video. Sit back, and enjoy!

Canada shared by Canadians – The Video

Pretty cool, eh?

This video is especially close to my heart. Being a proud Montrealer and Canadian at heart, but spending so much time on the road exploring the corners of the world – well, sometimes, I just miss my home. And this video quickly became a go-to whenever I get the Canada blues, immediately brightening my day by reminding me why I love my country so dearly.

Many of the clips depict things I’ve mentioned in the past – the Montreal festivals, snowshoeing, Quebec City, Niagara Falls, and of course, my home province. If this video of Canada shared by Canadians doesn’t inspire you to board the next plane to my country – I don’t know what will. By the time you’re done with this video you’ll want to see everything from British Columbia to Newfoundland and everything in between, including poutine, maple syrup, and some of the world’s cutest (and admittedly, sometimes scariest) animals.

Seriously – just come to Canada. YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Have you been to Canada? What is your favorite segment in the video? Something you added to your bucket list?

Love Canada very much, too – and I have not seen too much of it yet, but I’m looking forward to hopefully spending a longer period of time there in the not so distant future. CANADA ROCKS – it’s true:)!

We will be visiting Canada for the first time during TBEX this year! Who knows… maybe we will drive on and discover other places.

Love to see more proud Canadians! We are practically neighbours….have spend much quality time in Montreal and Quebec, but still call Ottawa home!

Ok, I am sold! Loving the adventure sports at the start – and the whale watching too!

[...] JMeyersForeman certainly had my mind traveling south to the sunny Caribbean with her travellers overlooking the caribbean ocean shot.  We both walked the Camino de Santiago last year – literally only a week or 2 apart!  Maybe our paths will cross again someday.  (Click here to see the Camino Series.)  Travels in Transit has me thinking back to my time in Antigua and how much I love the sun and Caribbean culture!  Perhaps another swim with the stingrays at Stingray City is in order!  She wrote about Appreciating My Own Homeland…. also has me thinking about what to do in and around my home town – Ottawa!  I am not the only one…love this link shared by AMontrealerAbroad – Canada shared by Canadians. It’s super nice to see someone sharing stories from their beloved home country. I’ll be visiting Montreal and around this summer and hopefully I’ll get as far as Newfoundland – can’t wait to see what the area has to offer. From what I’ve seen, I have a feeling I’ll love every min of it.
